The Sequencing Center
With +15 years in the industry, The Sequencing Center’s CEO, Richard Casey Ph.D, has long believed that the future of biological and medical discoveries will be driven by genomics. After years of watching fellow colleagues struggle to get critical genomic data for their research, he decided in 2016 it was time to solve this problem in the commercial business realm. He envisioned a world where genome sequencing would be an effortless and efficient process at prices that wouldn’t decimate entire grants or take months to receive data for a single sample.
BIO-ISAC
The Bioeconomy Information Sharing and Analysis Center (BIO-ISAC), is the critical resource for cyber threat detection, prevention, protection, response, recovery and resilience for the nation, addressing threats unique to the bioeconomy and enabling coordination among stakeholders to facilitate a robust and secure industry. The BIO-ISAC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit member organization (pending), formally chartered in 2021. BIO-ISAC provides a central resource for gathering information on threats to infrastructure impacting and forming the bioeconomy and two-way sharing of information between and among public and private sectors in order to identify, protect, detect, respond, recover, and build resilience from attacks on public and private bioeconomy infrastructure. BIO-ISAC helps spur the development and evaluation of defensive tools to address these threats and includes vulnerability identification and mitigation and education and outreach aimed at reducing risk to the nation’s biosecurity infrastructure.
